Founded in 2000, the Baltimore Comic Con is one of the oldest comic book conventions east of the Mississippi. Because of its age, the event is usually able to draw very well-known artists and writers of comics and graphic novels; however, the event typically does not include A-list celebrities from films and television shows. Normally, the show takes place during the month of September, starting on a Friday afternoon and closing in the early evening on Sunday. The Baltimore Convention Center in downtown Baltimore, Maryland, is usually home to the event.
