Pentatonix is an American a cappella group with five members from Arlington, Texas. Vocalists include Avi Kaplan, Kevin Olusola, Kirstin Maldonado, Scott Hoying and Mitch Grassi. They are well known for their medley-style song covers as well as their original material. They use pop-styles of music with basslines, percussion, harmonies and beat boxing. Formed in 2011, Pentatonix won the third season of NBC’s the Sing-Off and won $200,000 in prizes.
