About the Detroit Lions
The Detroit Lions have played in Detroit since 1934 when the team was moved from Portsmouth, Ohio, to the Motor City. Today, the Lions are a part of the Central Division of the National Football Conference of the National Football League. The team’s home games are played at Ford Field, an indoor stadium that is situated in Downtown Detroit. Large enough to hold 65,000 fans for football games, the stadium opened in 2002.
